After getting her nursing degree from Purdue and working in a hospital setting, Amy knew she wanted to explore the field further. She went on to earn a master’s degree in health science from Governor’s State University and a master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in adult health from Valparaiso University. “I’ve worked in a number of healthcare fields, but the variety of patients I come in contact with in family practice is very satisfying to me,” Amy explained. She says her days are never the same, and it’s not unusual for her to see an elderly patient in one room only to step into the next room where a mother and child are waiting for her.
