Usha Phillips, MD

Dr. Phillips graduated from Stanley Medical College in India at a very young age. She served in the Indian Army Medical Corp, where she had the opportunity to travel and was exposed to underserved populations in the border areas. She started her pediatric career in 1982, having received her diploma in child health in India. She is a member of the Royal College of Pediatricians in England. Dr. Phillips migrated to the United States and worked in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia in general pediatrics and emergency medicine. She specialized in pediatric infectious diseases from the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and, after a decade in infectious disease, decided to move to the warmer weather of New Mexico. Dr. Phillips is currently working towards certification in childhood obesity. She loves art, photography, travel, reading and volunteer work.
