Takunda Mugwisi, MD, joined Dukes Medical Group in October 2016. Dr. Mugwisi completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit through Wayne State University.

Dr. Mugwisi received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Indiana University in South Bend in 2006 and his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in Cupecoy, St. Maarten in October 2011. During his residency, Dr. Mugwisi was twice nominated for the emergency department consultant of the year award. In 2014, he contributed to research on occult hernia diagnoses by soft tissue ultrasound in female pelvic-pain patients.

Dr. Mugwisi, a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also certified in laparoscopic surgery by the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
