When I was in college, I knew I wanted to work in a field where I was able to help people. I was fortunate to know a few physician assistants and they served as mentors when I decided to go into medicine. I chose orthopedics as a specialty because I like the fact that we are often able to treat a problem and resolve it, getting the patient back to the activities they love to do. I also enjoy seeing patients with a wide variety of injuries and getting to build relationships with them.

As a physician assistant, I work in the office seeing patients before and after surgery. I also perform injections, fracture care, including casting and splinting, and other in-office procedures. I spend part of my time in the operating room, working with orthopedic surgeons to assist them during surgery. I strive to be approachable with patients and help them to feel comfortable asking questions and addressing concerns.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three kids, fishing, and enjoying the natural beauty of Tucson’s great outdoors.
