John Spencer, M.D. Board-Certified Family Medicine

My father was a family doctor and my mother is a retired registered nurse so caring for others has been a part of my life since my earliest days. My specialty is family practice, but I also have a fellowship in Advanced Women’s Healthcare and, in the first part of my career, I found great joy in having delivered more than 1,000 babies. My practice includes the broad spectrum of family medicine and I enjoy caring for families including mothers and newborns. It is a privilege to be the physician for young families as I get to know the children as they grow. I also treat the rest of the family including all members. I work to ensure my patients understand what they need to do to focus on wellness, and when necessary, educate them about what medications can do for them and how to integrate it into their lifestyle. When I am not in the clinic, I enjoy running, biking and hiking (including the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim), teaching Sunday school, and keeping up with my 18 grandchildren.
