Jennifer Banek, FNP
Working in health care gives me the opportunity to have a career focused on the things that inspire me most – medicine, science, and making an impact on others’ lives.
As a registered nurse in the emergency department (ED), I honed my skills treating patients with acute and chronic diseases. This required me to be a critical thinker, problem solver, effective communicator and good listener on a daily basis. Although I enjoyed the challenge of the ED, I developed a desire to play a more active role in my patients’ overall health and wellness. This led me to pursue my Nurse Practitioner degree.
I believe patients would describe me as their partner; someone who treats them with respect, compassion and is dedicated to their wellbeing. To me, education is a key component to successful outcomes. I ensure patients understand the effects of their disease so we can better manage the disease process and meet the goal of giving them the best quality of life possible.
I have a special interest in neurological care and management, including peripheral neuropathy, headache, and stroke. I see patients of every age and enjoy treating entire families and generations of families.
