The story leading up to my pursuit of a nursing career isn’t a compelling one – nursing is just what I was meant to do and I have never had to think twice about it. I find it rewarding to be able to connect with patients and take the time to listen to what they have to say in order to promote their quality of life. I love hearing patients share their stories and their wisdom, especially those of older generations.Patient-centered care is the focus of my practice. My responsibility is to provide patients with as much information and resources as I can in order for them to make informed decisions and take charge of their health.I have several years of experience in primary care in addition to my experience in inpatient medical-surgical nursing. I also have an interest in palliative and hospice care. When the opportunity arises, I enjoy serving as an educator for nursing students and graduate nurses. I am board certified as an adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, participating in CrossFit classes, traveling, watching documentaries, or reading a book with a good cup of coffee.
