Herbert Acker, MD
A Fort Wayne native, Dr. Acker joined Lutheran Health Physicians in August 2010 when his former group, Brooklyn Medical Associates joined LHP. Dr. Acker worked in private practice for two years before joining BMA in 1967.
A primary care physician, Dr. Acker earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Purdue University in 1956. He earned a medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 1964, and he completed an internship at Lutheran Hospital in 1965.
Dr. Acker is a charter member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and he is a preceptor for first and third year medical students at the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program.
Dr. Acker is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians with added qualifications in geriatric medicine. He is a member of the Indiana State Medical Association and the Fort Wayne Medical Society.
