Helda Barakat, M.D., received her medical degree from University of Baghdad before completing an internship at the Arab Medical Center in Amman, Jordan. She worked as an in-house internal medicine physician at the King Hussein Cancer Center and the Istiklal Hospital, both in Amman, Jordan. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill, and worked as a primary care physician at St. Mary’s Internal Medicine in Streator, Ill., and later at Kymera Independent Physicians in Roswell, New Mexico.
