Dawn Labarbera, PA

Dawn M. LaBarbera PhD, PA-C, joined Lutheran Health Physicians in January 2013. Prior to joining LHP, she was a physician assistant for George Elvove, MD, in Libertyville, Illinois. LaBarbera is currently chair of the Department of Physician Studies at the University of Saint Francis. She is a former assistant professor at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, her alma mater. LaBarbera graduated cum laude from Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin, with bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychobiology in 1982, and she received a certificate in nuclear medicine technology from the School of Nuclear Medicine Technology in Hines, Illinois, in 1984. She completed a master’s degree (physician assistant program) at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 1994, and she earned a PhD in organization and management from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2004. She is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
