For me, nursing has been a lifelong passion. I was six years old when I knew I wanted to be a nurse, and in my early 20s when I started working as an RN. I spent 24 years working as a nurse in the hospital, but I knew I wanted to do more for my patients. I chose to become a doctor of nursing practice because I wanted my patients to benefit from the highest level of education available. My patients really mean something to me – I never treat them like a number. I feel like my MyTucsonDoc.com patients are part of my family and I genuinely care about their health. I take a holistic approach to my practice, treating each patient’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. I get excited when my patients start to notice positive changes in their lives because of an improvement in their health. I treat patients of all ages, from babies to geriatrics. I enjoy helping patients with ENT issues and performing well woman exams. I am a strong diagnostician, taking the time to listen to my patients’ problems, review their history and give an extremely thorough physical exam. When I first meet new patients, I let them know that I may not be perfect, but I will work hard for them and we’ll become teammates on the path to better health. In 2020, I won the Arizona NP Award for Excellence from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Outside of work I enjoy painting, drawing and stained glass. I also have a certification as a fitness instructor and am a black belt in Kajukenbo. Cynthia Elliott is a member of the allied health staff at Northwest Medical Center. Speaks American Sign Language for deaf patient care. EDUCATION AND MEDICAL TRAINING Doctor of Nursing Practice: Grand Canyon University College of Nursing
