After Dr. Tuncay graduated from Valparaiso University, she went on to earn her master’s in medical studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois and became a physician assistant. “After several years as a PA, I decided I wanted to become a physician,” Dr. Tuncay said. When she completed her degree, she served a rotating internship at Midwestern University/St. James Hospital and completed a residency in internal medicine and emergency medicine at the same institutions. “I enjoy internal medicine, because I can have a long-term impact on my patient’s health,” she said. “I like to help my patients get well and stay well with a combination of medical care and education."
