Christopher Baltes, MD
Christopher Baltes, MD, joined Lutheran Health Physicians’ family medicine team in September 2014. Dr. Baltes completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University in Bloomington in 2003, where he studied political science, history and biology. He earned a master's degree in biology from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 2004 before returning to Bloomington to take additional organic chemistry graduate-level courses at IU. Dr. Baltes earned a medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine, Netherlands Antilles, in 2010, and completed the Fort Wayne Medical Education family medicine residency program in June 2014. While a student at IU, Dr. Baltes worked as a teaching assistant in the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, and he was an undergraduate teaching intern in the biology department and a student researcher in the genetics laboratory. Dr. Baltes, who enjoys photography in his spare time, was awarded the Monroe County American Red Cross Volunteer of the Year Award in 2003 for his dedication to teaching adult and infant/child CPR, AED and first aid classes at the Monroe County branch in Bloomington.
