April is a graduate of Greene County High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at William Carey University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Delta State University. She has worked as a registered nurse in Hattiesburg, Columbus, and Greenwood, Miss., focusing her work in critical and intensive care. Hinton is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, of which she also holds active membership. She is a member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Mississippi Nurse’s Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale.
