Anthony Demarco, MD
My love for helping and teaching people, combined with an interest in science, put me on the path to becoming a physician. This journey has led me to my current position at Northwest Medical Center, where I care for patients and educate resident physicians just beginning their careers.
I chose to specialize in Family Medicine because it allows me to serve patients of all ages – with an emphasis on preventing illness and maintaining good general health. I am passionate about preventing and treating chronic diseases, including diabetes and high blood pressure. I consider it a priority to focus on these illnesses because they can easily lead to other, more severe, complications.
Being a family doctor gives me the opportunity to connect with people and have a positive effect on overall community health. On a typical day, I might do all kinds of different procedures, including primary care well or sick visits; skin biopsies; IUD and Nexplanon placements; minor suturing; joint injections; and more.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy reading, running, and cooking with my wife, and playing video games.
