A native of Marion, Indiana, Dr. Karl joined Lutheran Health Physicians in November 2010 when her former group, Associated Family Medical Consultants, joined LHP. Dr. Karl, who has special interest in women's health issues and preventative medicine, joined AFMC in 2008 after working one year at Advocate Health Center in Frankfort, Illinois.

Dr. Karl, whose husband Jon Karl, MD, is a pain management specialist in Fort Wayne, graduated cum laude from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in biology. She earned a medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, in 2004, and she completed a family medicine residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois, in 2007.

Dr. Karl, who is board certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Indiana State Medical Association and the Fort Wayne Medical Society.
